Two decades of
technology, wire,
and hard-won craft.
David Steemke started out as an electrician with a lifelong obsession with technology — the kid who took the family computer apart to see how it worked. He turned that into NetworkAware: a full-time low-voltage business, built from the ground up and grown entirely by word of mouth.

Wired from the start
David's fascination with technology started young — the kid tearing apart the family computer in high school and, more often than not, putting it back together better than he found it. That instinct for how systems actually work, paired with hands-on training as an electrician and home automation tech, became the foundation for everything NetworkAware does today.
The turn that built the business
After getting sober in 2012, David transformed his life and career. He returned to school, earned his certifications, and climbed from entry-level tech support to running his own successful low-voltage contracting firm. For David, it's the ultimate payoff: turning a passion for technology and connectivity into a business he's proud to call his own.
“I built a business I love out of a lifelong passion for technology and hands-on problem solving.”
— David Steemke
Why clients call — and refer
The reasons homeowners, builders, and general contractors choose NetworkAware come down to a handful of things David refuses to compromise on:
He answers the phone — and shows up
The most common thing clients say about David is the simplest: he picks up, he returns calls, and he arrives when he said he would. In a trade where that's rare, it's the whole reputation.
The full low-voltage spectrum
From a simple Cat6 and coax pre-wire to a complete smart-home or whole-business integration, David handles the entire range — so one contractor carries the job from rough-in to final calibration.
IT, A/V, and low-voltage in one person
David's background spans IT support, audio-video, and low-voltage installation — an uncommon combination that means the network, the theater, and the wiring behind them are all designed to work together, by the same hands.
Built on word of mouth
A referral-only reputation is a promise: every job has to be good enough to earn the next one. That standard shows up in the labeling, the testing, and the parts of the install you'll never see.
Your project gets the owner
Because David runs the work himself, every client gets the person whose name is on the license — personal attention on the details and one point of accountability from first walkthrough to handoff.
Grown entirely by word of mouth
Every client NetworkAware has ever had came by referral. There has been no paid advertising — just work done well enough that homeowners, builders, and general contractors keep passing his name along. That reputation, earned one clean install at a time, is the company's real marketing.
One contractor, personally accountable
NetworkAware is a one-person operation by design, and David walks every project himself — meeting on-site, taking detailed notes, marking each location, pricing the components, and building a custom bid. No cookie-cutter installs, no handoff to a crew you never met. The person who quotes your job is the person who wires it.
The network infrastructure behind a home or business is one of the most important investments you'll make in it. You deserve a contractor who treats it that way — and answers the phone when you call.
Work directly with the owner.
