Why Cat6A instead of Cat5e or Cat6?
Cat6A supports 10-gigabit Ethernet to 100 meters and is shielded against the crosstalk that degrades longer runs. For a home meant to last twenty-five years without a rewire, Cat6A is the standard that keeps wired speed ahead of the network hardware you'll upgrade several times over that span.
How many drops does a home need?
It depends on the floor plan, but a typical new-construction home gets two to four data drops per room, plus dedicated runs for access points, cameras, and AV. We plan drop counts room by room against how the home is actually used, then add spare runs where a future need is likely.
